Information regarding the 2024 Epee Training Camp in Valles, Italy. We now have confirmation of the dates which are the 17th – 24th of August 2024.
There are three age groups in this training: Under14, Under17 and Under20. Fencers who want to participate must have their own equipment and some competition experience. If you aren't in one of these three age categories but know fencers who are, please pass this information along.
The fee of 700 Euros covers general training, one-to-one lessons, accommodation and meals. The cost of flights and transport from and to the airport are not included. A deposit of 370 Euros is due at the time of registration and the balance will be due in August. The registration forms will be available soon. The deadline for registration will be in June, but the 2023 training filled up quickly and there was a waiting list, so we encourage you to register earlier rather than later.
The 17th and the 24th are the travel days. The flights are to be booked by the parents of the fencers and can originate from any UK airport as long as the destination is Verona. A transport bus from Verona airport to Valles and back will be arranged and we will know the cost of this transfer closer to the date of the training. As a guideline, the 2023 fee was 90 Euros. John has a lot of experience traveling with fencing equipment on many different airlines and can offer advice on booking and how to avoid some of the baggage pitfalls. He can also answer any questions about the other coaches and support staff at the training.
